"Imagery" PoemUnder the white heat of the uncaring sun. We stand in a crowd unnoticed. Shoved back and forth along with their progression. The black around us absorbs the radiant energy. The black of asphalt. The black of our clothes. The black of her hair. Her hair, fine and smooth, Soft against my face. The wind stirs her hair, Small wisps find their way to the edges of my mouth, They stick to the thought of moisture in the heat. With the wind her smell reaches me. A sweet, but tired smell.
